Sand and Sky Earrings on sale for $150

I've been looking at my pictures of Iceland as I prepare myself for my third trip and the one I posted below is among my favorites. It's a beach in South Iceland with dark mountains in the distance. I spent some time on that beach one afternoon and remember the scene before me quite vividly. With the Atlantic Ocean on my right, I was surrounded by velvety-rich, black sand and expansive, variable gray sky above. Those mountains loomed a few miles away, wrapped in a layer of mist. My latest Regal Graffiti Collection piece combines two colors from that moment in one graceful earring with a narrow silhouette and subtle surface texture. I designed them with Holiday parties and more festive occasions in mind, too. If there's a pairing you're interested in, feel free to send me an email with your color combination request.

Iceland on My Mind

Remember a few weeks ago I mentioned I would be sharing some big news with you in the coming weeks? Well, I have news to share today, and new work that complements it. I'm heading back to Iceland in about three weeks! I will be showing "In Between" for two months at the Wind and Weather Gallery in Reykjavik and it opens January 1. Then I head to Blönduós in Northwest Iceland to a residency at Textílsetur where I will be spending the month stitching a black version of "Island of 14,264 Days," an idea I had when I was at the Nes Artist Residency in 2013. Then for the month of February, I will head back to Reykjavík for another month at SÍM where I will be developing new work for my next exhibition. In total, I will be in Iceland for just over two months and I am counting the days until I climb aboard that Icelandair jet. I'll fill you in on the details soon.

Memory in Color

Edged Round Earrings in Sky, $114

I really love my new Iceland Palette because it reminds me of my favorite place, obviously. I could get lost in thought looking at that Glacier blue and Moss green… I might make some one-of-a-kind pieces using my new colors this fall, but in the meantime, I'm happy to create fresh collection pieces and try older designs. For this Wednesday, here are several new pieces: a faceted round shape with a little dimension, a horizontally-oriented pin and a very happy, yellow two-part pendant. Balance

Balance Teardrop Necklace in Glacier, sale $150

Balance has been on my mind a lot lately, as I'm sure you can imagine given the ideas behind some of my other new Etsy pieces. Today's necklace includes two ever-so-slightly-different teardrops spaced a little bit apart and suspended from a delicate chain at the same length on either side. It's a balanced design with a mix of symmetry and asymmetry, and in my favorite color from my new Iceland Palette: Glacier... I also added Teardrop earrings in Glacier to match.
