Balance

Balance has been on my mind a lot lately, as I'm sure you can imagine given the ideas behind some of my other new Etsy pieces. Today's necklace includes two ever-so-slightly-different teardrops spaced a little bit apart and suspended from a delicate chain at the same length on either side. It's a balanced design with a mix of symmetry and asymmetry, and in my favorite color from my new Iceland Palette: Glacier... I also added Teardrop earrings in Glacier to match.

The sale continues through this Thursday, September 18.

Etsy Monday!

I added another new piece to my Etsy shop this morning, and then I listed three more after that: all different pairs of earrings. Similar to my Line Drawing circle and arc earring styles, these pieces feature one graphic element in two sizes, but are made in brass with sterling silver ear wires. I made others like this in November for a few holiday sales and have these four pairs left. When they are gone, they will be gone…

The Champs' First Earrings

 Amy

We had our first critique Monday morning. The project was to make three pairs of earrings using the basic techniques they had learned during the week--one symmetrical pair, one asymmetrical pair, and a third pair with at least two rivets of any style. I was impressed to say the least. They worked hard and it shows. To see more please visit, my Flickr site.

earrings galore at heidi lowe gallery

a new earrings show called "earrings galore" opened at heidi lowe gallery recently. i made 5 pairs of spray painted earrings in a color palette based on a glass decanter and plastic cups some friends of mine own (thanks allisyn and jason!). i've been wanting to work with these colors in some way for years and finally saw a great opportunity in this show.

the exhibition is open until july.

new earrings

a few weeks ago i made some new earrings for an earrings show, earrings galore, at heidi lowe gallery. i struggled while making these and i know i was made the entire process harder than it had to be. like i said the other day about the work i made for the stimulus project, it felt awkward. i wasn't able to get pro shots of all of them so here are a few, plus two i took. one of these shows the four corners earrings after i oxidized them. i like them better blackened.
