Final Etsy Week

This week is the final week for my Etsy sale and then at the end of the day on Sunday, August 30, I will close the shop indefinitely. Every item listed is basically the last one I have and the piece in the picture is the piece you will receive. Your order will ship, most likely, the day after I get it. I added an "Under 50" section where you will find a number of nice things, too... I do hope you will visit the shop in the coming days and feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Thanks to everyone who have made purchases already!

Into the Weekend

My Etsy sale is still underway for the weekend and for about ten more days. It's been great so far and, as I've said before, this is kind of it... come the end of the day August 30, the shop will close. I do hope you will visit my shop and check out my limited but lovely selection. Then get a gift for someone special for now, or later, or maybe get yourself a little something. Your purchases will help me clear out my remaining stock and support me in my pursuit of graduate studies here in San Francisco. Here are a few of my current favorites:

First Week Wonderful, and the Sale Continues

The first week of my 10 Year Anniversary and Thank You Sale on Etsy was fantastic! Thanks to everyone who made a purchase. The sale continues this week and through August 30. All regular collection items are 25% off and sale items are an additional 10% off. I have relisted a few items that sold and added something new, too. I hope you will stop by the shop today or sometime this week and take a look! The shop will close indefinitely when the sale ends.

From the "Vault"

I recently got a few older pieces back from a gallery in London and, instead of shipping them to another gallery, I decided to put them on Etsy. I don't offer many one-of-a-kind pieces there so I like adding a few now and again. Getting these pieces back was perfect timing! You'll find unique Line Drawings and two enameled necklaces, all included in the 25% off sale. The Line Drawings have a sculptural presence and the enameled pieces were based on winter observations made while living in Penland, NC. Each enameled plate depicts a different observation of snow and ice.

It's Been 10 Years, Part 5

I began my Etsy shop, AmyTavernJewelry, in 2009 and I have enjoyed being a part of that awesome community. It's a fun and accessible way to connect with other my customers and other artists. I've been debating whether or not to close the shop once grad school begins and, although I haven't come to a definitive conclusion, I have decided to close the shop for now at the end of this month. I might reopen around the holidays, but that remains uncertain. So, to celebrate my 10 years, mark my next chapter, and say thanks to all of you for your constant support, I'm having a sale starting tomorrow. Everything will be 25% off, except sale items which will be an additional 10% off.  Everything pictured is in stock and orders will be shipped quickly. I am offering a limited selection at this time, but there are lots of lovely items in the mix and a few nice sale pieces. I will add a few one-of-a-kind necklaces and brooches, too. The sale will run through Sunday, August 30. Then my shop will go into vacation mode, indefinitely.

The sale will begin tomorrow at 9am Pacific time.

Summer Shop

With summer here and a new home in California, I decided to update my Etsy shop with some new photos. The pieces you see listed there now are in stock and ready to ship within 24 hours of your order. And, you will receive exactly what's pictured. This paired-down selection of my History Repeats, Line Drawings, and Regal Graffiti collections are my only offerings while I'm without a studio this summer. Please stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks and months... and please feel free to email me if there is something you are interested in but is no longer available. I'll do my best to accommodate your request.

I'm Moving...And, a Sale!

"So How's This Going to Work?" is a question I keep asking myself. I'm moving to California in just a few very short weeks; June 8, to be exact. Right now, I'm in the midst of finishing some new work for my galleries, filling a few Etsy orders, and making a couple of custom pieces. Once I'm done at the bench, I can start to pack. I will take my hand tools and my favorite books, and that's probably it. I'm not going to move my entire studio across the country because I will have access to all sorts of tools at school, but I won't have a studio over the summer. So, this brings me to begin to answer this question of "how":

1. I have reduced the number of galleries and shops I'm working with. Please visit Facebook to view a complete list. I will try to keep making work for these places while I'm in school, but I have no idea how demanding school will be. I'll see what's realistic as my schedule unfolds in the fall...more changes may have to be made.

2. And what about Etsy? I've been rolling this over and over in my mind and I have yet to come to a definitive conclusion. My plan for now is to keep the shop "as is" for the following week and everything will be 25% off as a last hurrah before I go. To take advantage of the sale please use the following coupon code - MOVING2015. This will be your last chance to order most of what is currently available, at least for the summer. I will remove everything from the shop when I move, except the pieces I still have in stock. These will be available all summer long, ready to ship within a day of ordering. Once I start school after Labor Day, well, I'm still trying to figure that out... Again, I think I need to see what happens at school first, see what I can realistically handle before making any concrete decisions. I would love to keep the shop open, but I just don't know if that's possible...again, more changes may come.

So things are pretty hectic around here as I prepare to move. I will keep you posted on my plans and thank you in advance for your patience and support. You are always so good to me! Thank you!

Hot Pink!

I just added two hot pink pins to my Etsy Sale section, a tiny bow and a little badge. Pins are a great way to add detail to the everyday and these two will look great tacked to a t-shirt, collar, or hat. Both pieces are here in my studio and ready to ship ASAP. If you order any of my sale pieces before 4:30pm EST I will ship same day. You will also find a few earrings and necklaces in the Sale section, too.

My Little Shop

My Etsy shop is open and so ready for you to visit. Etsy has added some great new features to the "About" section including a place for extended artist information and studio photos. I've added more written text about me and a few pictures of my sweet Lake Street Studio. I'm very pleased with the new features, more ways to share what I do with all of you. As for my listings, I've done some updating and placed a couple items on sale. I hope you will stop over for a visit, long or short.

P.S. You might learn something new about me when you visit this time. Hint: 2015 is a big year...

Perspective

I was playing around with some Line Drawing circles and arcs the other day, trying to find the right balance for a new pendant. I have designed new work like this for years: working with multiple parts at my bench, holding them up, moving them around, taking away, adding…until something simply clicks and it feels right. That's exactly what happened with this new Perspective Line Drawing Pendant--two circles and two arcs form a multi-dimensional, sculptural pendant with casual structure.

See more new work and lots, lots more at my Etsy Shop!

Three Roses

Today's new addition is this elegant Three Roses Necklace. Delicate and feminine, simple and modern all at once… I do love mixing opposites in subtle ways. The Three Roses Necklace is 18" long and each abstract rose is about the size of a dime. Find it and 121 other pieces in all sorts of styles and colors in my Etsy Shop.

Ghost Drawings

Every once in awhile I get a request for my Line Drawing Earrings in bright and shiny silver, instead of the original oxidized patina. Then recently, one of my galleries requested a set of basic Line Drawing earrings in this lighter version to complement the original styles they currently have. Now I bring these bright and shiny, whisper-light versions to you. The shiny surface is sparkling and reflective and just adds to the barely-there feeling. Incredibly wearable, minimal, and elegant, these earrings are perfect for every day.
