Ends

This is the pile of ends I snipped with my tiny embroidery scissors as I created my black island. I like to give things like this a little bit of credit. Even though they are essentially cast-offs, they deserve a little recognition. They are an important part of the process, too.

may jewelry of the month

may is here! my favorite month and my birthday month. for this month's jewelry of the month piece i made “graph paper and red,” a pendant composed of twelve layers of graph paper stitched together with red thread. getting here was not easy. i spent hours trying different ideas, none of which seemed to work out; some upon completion just didn’t excite me while others were scrapped halfway through the process. i finally settled on working with graph paper and simple stitches to create this kid-like, nostalgic necklace. the pendant measures about 2” wide and hangs from an 18” chain.

graph paper and red is priced at $40 and i will make an edition up to 10.

thanks for reading.
